KRILLION / THE DETAILS

How to play & scoring rules

Play Krillion one discovery at a time: seven questions, twenty seconds per answer, and a deeper dive for less familiar finds.

Your first dive

  1. Start a daily dive or choose a free practice pool. Read the question during the three-second preview.
  2. Enter one answer during the following twenty seconds. Read the category and any date, name, or scope limits.
  3. If the answer is recognized, it earns its fixed point value. If not, try another while time remains. “Not recognized” does not necessarily mean factually wrong.
  4. After each round, press Next when ready. Skipping or running out of time earns zero points.

Six levels of discovery

TierPointsDepth
Familiar waters10100 m
A little deeper15150 m
Off the reef30300 m
Hidden current60600 m

Scores are editorial estimates of familiarity, assigned in the question bank. They are not live player frequencies. Speed earns no bonus. A perfect seven-question dive reaches 700 points and 7,000 metres.

Daily and practice

Daily questions change at 00:00 UTC. Everyone gets the same questions in the same order. Your anonymous browser identity can complete that daily set once; it is not a verified-person limit. Clearing cookies can create a new identity.

Practice has no daily limit. Each pool tracks its own allocated questions and repeats after exhaustion. An unfinished practice dive resumes before another begins. Allocated questions count toward the cycle even if you stop partway through.

Connection and progress

The server keeps time. Refreshing, switching tabs, or losing connection does not pause or restart an active round. You can reconnect to recover saved results. The next round does not begin until you press Next.

Progress belongs to this browser’s cookie. Clearing it or changing device does not restore or merge your history. There is no account recovery. Unfinished games are retained for up to seven days of inactivity; completed games and anonymous progress for up to 180 days, subject to the scheduled cleanup.
